The Immortals movie trailer for the upcoming fantasy –action drama series has just been released and the already bands of people cannot wait to watch Immortals online. It looks fantastic with its arresting visuals and over-the-top fighting scenes. The trailer does look a bit like 2006 epic action flick 300 with its highly stylized action sequences with its slow motion capture fight scenes and its somewhat metallic tint cinematography. But then again, it does not even attempt to disguise the resemblance and is seemingly trying to cash in on it as the trailer reveals that these are the same producers who brought 300, which was based a popular graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller, to the silver screen. It will be produced by Mark Canton, Ryan Kavanaugh, and Gianni Nunnnari with Relativity Media.
The comparison is inevitable when you watch Immortals movie online with 300. 300 was directed by Zack Snyder, who has been known for his stylish visualizations with other movies like Watchmen and Sucker Punch, the director of Immortals, Tarsem Singh, is also more of that strain with dazzling and over-the-top scenes and imageries. The Indian director started out as a music director whose best work would be Losing my Religion by R.E.M. The stylistic music video took home the Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards back in 1991. He has then made several eccentric and same-highly-stylized and dreamlike style of filmmaking with The Cell and The Fall. But unlike 300, Immortals feels more lavish and opulent as opposed to 300’s more brutish and thuggish feel.
But the upcoming big budget flick is not just being compared to 300, it has also been pitted against Clash of the Titans with its storyline. The epic movie is also loosely based on Greek mythology and will deal with, well, the Titans. But when you watch Immortals online, it will follow more with the peasant named Theseus and his battle against the immortal beings in order to save humanity. Hypherion has just declared war against the other humans and is now looking for the legendary Epirus Bow, a powerful weapon made by god of war Ares. The possessor has the ability to free the Titans from Tartatarus. The gods cannot side between Hypherion and the humans because they were prohibited by the ancient laws, so Zeus went to pick a Theseus, along with the priestess Phaedra and the slave Stavros, to help protect his homeland and save the gods from extinction from the wrath of Hypherion and his minions.
The mythological action film will have an all star cast. Leading the pack is Henry Cavill as Theseus. Cavil has just been chosen to play the Man of Steel in the upcoming rebooted version of Superman. Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto will play the visionary priestess Phaedra. Oscar nominee Mickey Rourke will play the main antagonist King Hypherion. Clash of the Titans’ Luke Evans will be playing Greek god Zeus, while Twilight star Kellan Lutz will be Poseidon. Blade’s Stephen Dorff will be the slave named Stavros. It is set to hit theaters on November 11, 2011. But you can also watch immortals online.
